Define irony: more people in the USA watched a re-run of Monsters Inc. than the Live Earth concerts.
Monsters Inc. is about a big corporation telling the public lies in an attempt to make them conserve energy due to a fuel shortage.

This video shows you what happens when you throw a small Camping Gaz-sized canister on to a bonfire.
Think what the explosion would be like with a patio-sized bottle…

I did my bit to reduce my carbon footprint on Saturday, during the Live Earth Concerts; I turned my telly off.
Update: looks like everybody else did too.

The Invasion trailer is now available on YouTube.
It’s a remake of the 1993 film by Abel Ferrara, which in turn was a remake of the 1978 movie starring Donald Sutherland – which was a remake of the original Don Siegel 1956 movie, Invasion of the Body Snatchers – all of which are great movies in their own right.
It looks as though there’s a few nods to all three previous movies, including a cameo role for Veronica Cartwright (who played a pivotal role in the 1978 version).
I mentioned back in 2001 about a review I’d read of Ferrara’s remake, which said the film could quite effectively be re-made every 20 years or so.
Here it is, once again delivering the classic cautionary tale – only this time, with immigration and terrorism as the central theme, not communism (1956) or the state of fear in post-war Vietnam (1978) or the rigidity of the US military as the Cold War reached it’s conclusion in the early 1990s.
