Making yesterday seem like tomorrow since 2001

Apologies

My apologies for the lack of updates over the past few days.

Normal service will be resumed shortly.

Hangover cures

Hangover cures at the BBC’s H2G2 site.

They didn’t help me yesterday.

Cream Crackers and Bovril usually do the trick for me.

I remember once reading about a doctor in the USA who studied hangovers. He would get volunteers drunk and put mini cameras into their stomachs to observe the effects of various hangover cures.

The only thing he found that would conclusively calm down the hungover stomach, was more alcohol.

Free too.

Feedreader

A few weeks ago, when I introduced the RSS/XML feed to The Copydesk, I downloaded a nifty little utility called Feed Reader.

It does exactly what it says on the tin.

Running on empty

I’ve made my rant about Scotland and Ireland’s failure to secure hosting for Euro 2008 over at Scotblog.

Osama Bin Website

Some people don’t know how to take a joke.

What’s his name?

Aberdeen appointed a new manager today, former Inverness Caley Thistle boss Steve Paterson.

At least The Guardian were honest about not having a picture of the guy.

Hand over all your money

A credit or debit card transaction is almost immediate.

In the case of a Switch payment, the funds are usually debited from your bank account on the next available working day.

With a credit card, the EPOS transaction can be accepted or denied on the spot.

Why then, does it take a credit card overpayment five working days before it can be refunded, when the bank account and credit card in question are serviced by the same company?
